Thesis: Investigating Aboriginal Youth Perceptions of Their Literacy Needs: Elucidating Innovative Approaches to Engage Them in Literacy Learning
This research project will explore the discourse on adult literacy learning and what directions are emerging in post-school education for Aboriginal students. A qualitative analysis will be undertaken to elucidate how Aboriginal youth see the issue of literacy learning, how they want to learn, and what they think would engage them in literacy learning. Examination of the literature will reveal what post-school education programs are available, what works with contemporary Aboriginal youth and adults, and what is working internationally.
