Thesis: Enhancing Positive Psychological Outcomes in Adolescence: The Effects of Outdoor Adventure Education

The use of outdoor adventure programs to facilitate positive social, emotional, and educational development during adolescence has a rich history, however much evidence surrounding their claimed benefits remains anecdotal. This thesis aims to capture and explain these benefits by measuring key psychological constructs (eg multiple facets of self-concept, hedonic and eudemonic well-being, interpersonal relatedness, self-esteem, and resilience) among teenage males participating in a 19-week outdoor adventure education program.
