Positive Psychological and Social Development
There is, common to many of us, a recognisable bundle of character traits that helps us to deal with setbacks and to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. These traits include emotional intelligence, social intelligence, mindfulness, psychological flexibility, equanimity, and emotion regulation skills. We might describe a person in possession of this bundle of traits as resilient.
In this program we ask: How do we measure resilience? How does resilience develop and change? How do we promote resilience?
The program also investigates those aspects of resilience that are potentially modifiable, looking to identify the developmental causes and consequences of character, as well as aspects of character which promote social, physical and emotional well-being and performance.
